China has 55 ethnic minorities, each with unique traditional clothing. Miao, Tibetan, and Yi costumes are particularly stunning and impressive.
苗族银饰服装 | Miao Silver Costume
苗族银饰是中国最华丽的民族服饰,没有之一。一套完整的苗族盛装银饰重达15-30斤,包括银冠、银项圈、银胸牌、银手镯、银腰带。制作一套盛装需要数月时间。
Miao silver jewelry costumes are the most magnificent ethnic attire in China, bar none. A complete set of Miao ceremonial silver weighs 15-30 jin (7.5-15 kg), including silver crown, neck rings, chest plates, bracelets, and waist belts. Crafting one set takes months.
在哪里看 — 贵州西江千户苗寨每晚有苗族盛装歌舞表演。雷山苗年节(农历十月)是看银饰最集中的时候——全村女性都穿盛装。

Where to see — Xijiang Thousand-Household Miao Village in Guizhou has nightly ceremonial song-and-dance performances. Leishan Miao New Year (10th lunar month) is the best time for silver costumes — every woman in the village wears full regalia.
藏族服饰 | Tibetan Costume
藏袍(楚巴)是藏族标志性服饰——宽大长袍,一只袖子穿着,另一只搭在肩上或缠在腰间。高原温差大,这样穿脱方便调节温度。藏族女性的头饰和腰饰镶嵌绿松石、珊瑚和蜜蜡。
The Tibetan robe (chuba) is the iconic garment — a wide, long robe with one sleeve worn and the other draped over the shoulder or wrapped at the waist. Plateau temperature swings make this on-off flexibility practical. Tibetan women's headdresses and waist ornaments feature turquoise, coral, and beeswax.
在哪里看 — 拉萨八廓街日常就能看到穿藏袍的人。每年的雪顿节(八月)和藏历新年是藏族盛装最集中的时刻。
Where to see — everyday Barkhor Street in Lhasa has people in Tibetan robes. Shoton Festival (August) and Tibetan New Year are the most concentrated ceremonial dress occasions.
彝族服饰 | Yi Costume
彝族服饰以黑色为基调,配以红、黄色刺绣和银饰。男性戴"英雄结"(头顶的角状发髻),女性穿百褶裙。火把节是看彝族盛装的最佳时机。
Yi costumes use black as the base, accented with red and yellow embroidery and silver. Men wear the "hero knot" (horn-shaped topknot), women wear pleated skirts. The Torch Festival is the best time to see Yi ceremonial dress.

- 苗族银饰 — 贵州凯里有银匠村,可以定制。一条手工银项链200-800元。Miao silver — Kaili, Guizhou has silversmith villages for custom pieces. A handmade silver necklace costs ¥200-800.
- 藏饰 — 拉萨八廓街有大量藏饰店,注意辨别天然绿松石和塑料仿品。Tibetan jewelry — Barkhor Street has many shops; watch for natural vs. plastic turquoise.
小贴士 | Tips: 拍摄少数民族服饰时请先征得同意——特别是在西藏和苗寨,直接拍照可能被认为不礼貌。 When photographing ethnic costumes, ask permission first — especially in Tibet and Miao villages, where taking photos without asking can be considered rude.
